Morgan Spurlock, Punch Brothers @ the Village East

April 11, 2012

In addition to the excellent indie fare opening this weekend at our sister theater, the Village East will be hosting two really exciting guests: filmmaker Morgan Spurlock and progressive bluegrass band Punch Brothers.

Join us Friday night for a special appearance by Punch Brothers Gabe Witcher, Chris Eldridge, and Paul Kowert in support of the new documentary HOW TO GROW A BAND. They’ll be at the 8:00PM show and tickets are going fast – we definitely recommend purchasing in advance online.

The director and producer of the doc will also be in attendance Fri 4/13, Sat 4/14, and Sun 4/15 following the 8:00PM shows for a Q&A about filming this exclusive look at frontman Chris Thile and the start of one of America’s most promising young bands.

Bluegrass not your thing? Stop by Saturday night for a screening of COMIC CON EPISODE IV: A FAN’S HOPE. Oscar nominated filmmaker Morgan Spurlock will be doing a Q&A after the 7:00PM show — we also recommend advance tickets for this one. The acclaimed doc features one-on-one interviews with San Diego Comic Con veterans Stan Lee, Joss Whedon (whose CABIN IN THE WOODS opens elsewhere this weekend), Frank Miller, Kevin Smith, Matt Groening, Seth Rogen, and Eli Roth.

See you at the movies!
