The Angelika creates an exciting and stylish cinematic experience in Fairfax County  FAIRFAX, Va. (June 25, 2012) -â?-â?Â Â   The     Angelika    Film    Center    &    Cafe, a new state-â?of-â?the-â?art  boutique cinema,  will  open  in  September  2012  at  Mosaic  in  Fairfax,  Virginia.  The  stylish  eight-â?screen  cinema  will showcase  the  best  in  independent,  foreign  and  specialty  film  in  auditoriums  featuring  plush  stadium designed seating, wall-â?to-â?wall  screens and the latest in digital projection  and sound. The sleekly designed soaring  three  level,  glass  enclosed  lobby  includes  a Café,  a Lounge  and  a creative  Concession  Stand.    A striking three-â?tiered crystal chandelier accented in blue neon and a dramatic oversized illuminated rendering of the winged  face of Angelika  adorn the lobby and are signature  elements  of the other three Angelikas operating in the U.S. The Angelika in New York City, one of the most successful dedicated arthouses in North America, has been breaking box office records for independent  films since 1989, while cinephiles in Texas have been visiting Angelikas in Dallas and Plano for over ten years.  Creating a completely  unique food and film experience,  the Angelika has partnered with Chef Lee Anne  Wong  to provide  the culinary  vision  for its Café,  Lounge  and Concession  Stand.  A graduate  of the French  Culinary  Institute,  former  finalist  on  Bravoâ??s  Top  Chef,  and  regular  contributor  on  the  Cooking Channelâ??s Unique Eats, Chef Wong will create a menu inspired by her signature modern-â?global fusion cuisine.   Guests will be able to enjoy their prepared meals, specially paired with beer, wine or champagne selections, in  the Café, Lounge or while watching a film. The mezzanine Lounge overlooking the lobby will serve drinks and gourmet bar snacks. A variety of delectable desserts and handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks will be served  in the Café. And, traditional movie snacks will be offered at the Concession Stand, along with Chef Wongâ??s creative twists on those traditions.

Like the other Angelikas, the mission of the Angelika at Mosaic will be to become an integral part of the  cultural  community.  In  addition  to  its  specialty  film  programming,  the  Angelika  will  host  local  film festivals and sponsor interesting programs designed to appeal to a variety of sophisticated filmgoers.

â??The Angelikaâ??s goal is to become the premiere cinema in the greater D.C. area,â? said Ellen Cotter, chief operating officer of the US Cinema division of Reading International, Inc. â??We are committed to offering exceptional service and a superior and different movie-â?going experience at Mosaic.â?The Angelika will be located at the intersection of Lee Highway and Gallows Road at Mosaic, a new urban district in Fairfax offering an eclectic mix of local and regional retailers and restaurants, together with ample  open  space,  including  two  parks  that  will  host  outdoor  events,  performances  and  festivals.  The Angelika  will  be  easily  accessible  by  public  transportation  with  the  Dunn  Loring  -â?Â Â Â   Merrifield  Metro  Stop (Orange Line) and only a short walk to Mosaic.
