WEST OF MEMPHIS subject/producers discuss their story

January 25, 2013

A poweful documentary that’s been receiving critical attention since its premiere at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, WEST OF MEMPHIS tells the untold story behind an extraordinary and desperate fight to stop the State of Arkansas from killing an innocent man.

Adam Conway recently sat down Damien Echols and Lorri Davis, subjects and producers of the film, to talk about their journey — from Echols’ wrongful incarceration for a crime he didn’t commit, to his 18 year struggle with the justice system to prove his innocence and gain his freedom, to working with filmmakers Amy Berg, Fran Walsh, and Peter Jackson to distill the documentary footage into an emotional and resonant film.
