Starts tomorrow – advance tickets available!
Angelika Dallas: Oct 7th & Oct 8th
Angelika Plano: Oct 11 & Oct 12
Angelika Houston: Oct 16 & Oct 17
Shakespeareâ??s ALLâ??S WELL THAT ENDS WELL, in a highly acclaimed production by Marianne Elliott, will be filmed live at the National Theatre in London and broadcast by satellite to cinemas worldwide. ALLâ??S WELL is the second play in the pilot season of NT Live, the Nationalâ??s ground-breaking initiative which launched in June with the hugely successful broadcast of Phèdre with Helen Mirren, seen by 50,000 people in 19 countries around the globe.
Set against a background of sexism, snobbery and a battle between the generations, ALLâ??S WELL THAT ENDS WELL turns fairytale logic on its head in a wondrous, bittersweet story.  The feisty but lowly Helena (Michelle Terry) falls in love with Bertram (George Rainsford), a haughty count. To gain his hand she is set a string of impossible tasks. Nevertheless, our heroine, whether wisely or no, refuses to give him up.
BLACK DYNAMITE EXPLODES ON YAHOO
BLACK DYNAMITE, opening at the Angelika Film Center NY on October 16th, recently hit the #5 spot on Yahoo! Movies most watched trailers. From the director of THE LAST BANDIT, BLACK DYNAMITE is a film to â??â?¦delight both discriminating fans of the blaxploitation tradition and ordinary lovers of goofy, in-ya-face thrillsâ? (Variety). When â??The Manâ? murders his brother, pumps heroin into local orphanages and floods the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor, Black Dynamite (Michael Jai White) is the one hero willing to fight all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.

NO IMPACT MAN at the Angelika, New York
A year in Manhattan without lattes, elevators or new shoes? Apparently it can be done. NO IMPACT MAN, Colin Beavan and his wife, Michelle Conlin, bravely went where no New Yorker (at least by choice) has gone before. Their film follows this family of three (baby daughter included) for one year on an incredible, funny, honest journey as they go, sometimes reluctantly, to the ends of the earth in attempt to save it.
Friday 9.11 and Saturday 9.12, Colin & Michelle will attend the 7:20pm shows of NO IMPACT MAN to discuss their unusual experiences, their struggles and bonds and the hopeful impact of no impact.

THE BAADER MEINHOF COMPLEX, Aug 21st
August 21st at the Angelika New York and September 18 at the Angelikas Dallas & Houston.
Featuring THE LIVES OF OTHERS star Martina Gedeck, THE BAADER MEINHOF COMLEX is a riveting, powerful, gritty account of Germany’s Red Army Faction (RAF), its initial aims and violent spiral.
BAFTA Film Award nominee Uli Edel directs this Academy Award-nominated adaptation of Stefan Austâ??s best-selling book of the same title. Chronicling the initial ambitions of the RAF and the groupâ??s resulting robberies, kidnappings and bombings, THE BAADER MEINHOF COMPLEX follows three of its prominent members: journalist Ulrike Meinhof (Gedeck), organizers Andreas Baader (Moritz Bleibtreu) and Gudrun Ensslin (Johanna Wokalek) on a journey that destroys the very humanity they seek to reclaim.
ANVIL Returns!
After a sold out screening of their hit film: ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL in June, the film and the band return to the Village East Cinema for one night. On Saturday, August 1, Anvil will appear live and in person following the 10:30pm showing of the film Entertainment Weekly calls “…the real thing, the real story of rock’n’roll”.
A WOMAN IN BERLIN
A WOMAN IN BERLIN, now playing at the Angelika in New York and set for October 2nd in Dallas, Plano and Houston, was recently featured on NPR as “…bringing new attention to an issue long considered a taboo in German society…” . A New York Times Critics’ Pick, A WOMAN IN BERLIN stars Award Winner Nina Hoss (YELLA) in this account of life in 1945 during the Red Army invasion of Berlin, based on the formerly anonymous writings of journalist and photographer Marta Hillers.
As detailed in NPR’s piece, the film, in conjunction with a university study on German rape victims, gives a long belated voice to the 2 million women who’ve held their silence for over 50 years. A timely examination of sexual violence and war, A WOMAN IN BERLIN is a “…sprawling, difficult, powerful film” (New York Times).
